Vladimir Tiagunov's student Jaccia-Michelle Charles won the First Prize at the International Online Competition "Universal Music Space"
NEW ALBUM RELEASE
Record Union has released and distributed to all major digital music services Vladimir Tiagunov's new classical piano music album. The album includes Fantasy & Fuge by J.S. Bach (BWV 944), Chopin's 10 Etudes from 12 Etudes Op.10, and “Goldfish” by Debussy.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT AT CURE OF ARS CHURCH
The concert features Christmas music performed by the Cure of Ars Adult and Youth Choirs, Bell Choir and Hand Chime Choir. My song "Let's Keep Christ In Christmas" (words by Joe Cirillo) will be performed for the first time.
Thanks to Steinway & Sons for the opportunity to play the legendary piano CD-503 belonging to immortal Vladimir Horowitz. This piano was in Maestro Horowitz's home for many years and then was used for his public concerts (in the US and abroad) and for recordings. The piano has been used in performance and recording by a few other musicians after Horowitz's death, notably Rudolf Firkusny, Horacio Gutierrez, Alicia de Larrocha, Murray Perahia and Alexey Sultanov.
MOKAH KICKOFF EVENT IN MANHATTAN
It was an honor to perform with violinist Alexander Markov at the Korean Museum in Manhattan, NY at the Mokah Kick-off party. The pieces performed were Massenet's Meditation from Thais and Sarasate's Zigeunerweisen.
MANOLOV INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION
Vladimir was invited as a judge to the Manolov International Music Competition that took place at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, NY. Two students of his participated and were awarded. One of the students got Second Prize. It was truly a pleasure to judge the Competition and to attend the Winners Concert. Congratulations to all participants!
CARNEGIE HALL CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE
Received certificate of excellence for "Extraordinary Dedication to the Field of Music Education and Outstanding Student Achievement" from Carnegie Hall for Forte International Music Competition after his student got a silver medal. - February 2, 2019
